This week Donna's (http://2happy.typepad) photo challenge is pets.
The first photo is of our beloved German Shepherd, Reba. She lived a long and wonderful life but passed away 9 months after the girls came home (just before they turned 2). They called her Beba. Though they were wary of her at first, they quickly changed their minds and grew to adore her. She loved them instantly. Though she was an incredibly gentle dog she was also old so we were very careful to directly supervise them when they were together. They still talk about her and just the other day out of the blue one said 'that is where Reba slept on her rug".
The other photos are of the girls with their stuffed dog-dogs. They have had these a very long time. Aubrey's is a constant companion. Summer's is treated more like a doll. We have several of them we rotate for washing but a few weeks ago they got hold of two each and decided they liked having 'twins' to stroll around the house. While I was taking pictures of them they decided to switch a dog each. They often do this with different colored shoes so Aubrey initially agreed to it. In one photo you can see she is having a change of heart and missing her second dog. In another picture Summer is posing with what she calls her 'trippolets'.
